If you happen to be looking for a destination from southwest Florida that is cruiser-friendly, fun, festive and forgiving, look no further than Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Across the Gulf of Mexico on the northeast tip of the Yucatan peninsula, Isla Mujeres is a wonderful place to stop for a few days, weeks or even a few months. My husband Al and I went there aboard our sailboat Carina, and spent six months enjoying all the Yucatan has to offer.
